What renovating in River Ridge means

River Ridge is not a city, so the parish handles permits. Most of its homes went up in one post-war burst, which tells us a lot before we walk in.

Unincorporated Jefferson Parish

River Ridge is an unincorporated community, so renovation permits come from Jefferson Parish, not a city hall. We prepare and submit the parish permits for your project.

Post-war housing

Large-scale suburban building began here in the early 1950s, and by 1965 nearly all the land between Harahan and Kenner along the river was developed. Many River Ridge homes date from that era.

A river-edge community

River Ridge is bounded by the Mississippi River on its southwest side, across from Waggaman. We plan drainage and moisture protection into our work here.

Bordered by Harahan, Kenner and Metairie, River Ridge is an unincorporated Jefferson Parish community on the Mississippi River's east bank. Mostly residential, it runs for roughly three miles beside Jefferson Highway and is recognized for its shady neighborhood streets, local parks, youth baseball and the river levee at its edge.

River Ridge saw large-scale home building start in the early 1950s, leaving a housing stock where many of the homes have stood for several decades and often show an earlier era. That age shapes how we approach kitchens, exteriors, whole-home updates and the local businesses we work on, and we walk through the choices with each owner during the estimate.
